Global Willow Research

These pages provide an overview of the multi-disciplinary research and extension activities at Cornell University on shrub willow (Salix spp.) with the overarching goal of improving our understanding of woody plant biology, biotic and abiotic stressors, plant pest ecology, and perennial bioenergy crop agronomy in support of expanded commercial deployment of sustainable shrub willow bioenergy crops. Highlighted is our multidisciplinary team of willow researchers in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences who work closely with Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) educators across New York State to transform research results into commercial application.
